Meet Blowing in the Wind!
Meet Blowing in the Wind!

“What's your story?” You've probably heard this question at least once in your life. I, for one, have heard it many times. Your story tells people your passions and who you are. The best part is probably how many answers this simple question can have, a one entry way to a world full of possibilities. Today, I choose to talk about my story, or should I say, one aspect of my pages long story, that being Blowing in the Wind!

Discussions have always been a part of my life, as they've probably been in yours too. They can range from amicable talks to heated arguments in the blink of an eye, but either way, the impact lingers. In contemporary days, the impact that just one discussion can have on one's relationships – professional or not – is tremendous! It's hard to admit, but truly, we, as a society, don't know how to keep conversations anymore. The political polarization is at its highest levels and nobody seems to find middle ground in anything.

It was with this mindset that, upon my periodic doomscrolling, I discovered Blowing in the Wind. For a while, I stayed as a silent watcher, it helped me slowly understand what their message was and how it spoke to me. And it didn't take long to realize my values aligned with their purpose, and becoming part of something bigger like Blowing in the Wind felt like an adventure I was ready to take on!

But behind every project, there's always a mastermind. This is where Emily steps in, the founder of Blowing in the Wind, and her story starts with a rather unusual start. After witnessing injustice against groups of people with different opinions than her, she made it her goal to make civil discussions accessible to teenagers on the internet and transform the way that young people communicate with each other. After much research and collecting resources, Blowing in the Wind came to be what it is now, a space where every story is heard and understood.

However, we are nowhere near the end of this story. Even with much work and dedication, Blowing in the Wind is still striving to take up space in the media as a mixture of busy schedules and attempts at winning over the algorithm unfortunately put our story on pause. But now, we are happy to announce that we're officially back and pressing continue on our journey to making civil discourse a priority!

But of course, we could never do this alone. This is why I want you to take this message as a personal invitation to becoming part of Blowing in the Wind. Here you can exchange experience with people from all over the world, discuss relevant topics and learn about ways you can increase civil discourse in your community. This is only the beginning of a new exciting chapter, and we can't wait to hear your opinions and walk one step closer to our goal. Thank you for staying with me until here, see you next time! :)
